James | Nicia
founder | gs702 visionary | ceo | master stylist
James has spent his career on & off stage; as a principal dancer, choreographer, director, hair & make-up artist and master stylist. He is a father and grandfather with a deeply-rooted commitment to “family” . When the mother of his children was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 James knew he had to find a way to generate additional income to take care of her and a mountain of medical bills. He started off free-lancing, doing hair & make-up for brides for their wedding photos. As word-of-mouth spread GlamSquad 702 was born.
The philosphy was simple; to make a living by helping women discover their unique beauty (using make-up artistry and hair-styling as his tools). Throughout his career, James has worked with people from all walks of life; glamorous showgirls & celebrities, women battling life-threatening disease and (so-called) average people just looking for a little “glam: in their life. Everyone has their own story and their own vision of what makes them beautiful. James’ gift is drawing that out in each person, inspiring their confidence and lifting their spirit.
While his career has taken him all over the world; it is his roots in Hawaii, in the aloha spirit, that James credits with inspiring him in how he approaches both his life and his business. Hawaii is a melting pot of people and cultures; an island paradise welcoming visitors from all over the world. It is a place where local residents give generously of themselves, despite economic challenges and a place where humility is a virtue. Las Vegas is the “City of Entertainment” ; a city built on hospitality and opportunity. James has merged his Hawaiian heritage with his global career and created a unique, multi-faceted business in Las Vegas.
